You Do Not Have Sufficient Permissions to Access this Page: Wordpress Adsense Deluxe Plugin Error

Just a quick post to solve the Wordpress Adsense Deluxe plugin error - "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page".

I encountered this message since I upgraded my wordpress to 2.8.2.  Adsense Deluxe is producing permission notification! Just a tiny info, Adsense deluxe is a wordpress plugin designed for Google Adsense , this plugin allows me to manage and put adsense code or javascript code anywhere in my post or template. I'm also using this plugin for my affiliate link so when I want to change the campaign I will just modify the link in Adsense Deluxe Dashboard.

Pretty sure I'm not the only user of this plugin so I believe some folks out there are also facing the same issue. If for some unknown force they stumble on this page, I hope that this post will help them. :)

Here's how to get rid of the "You do not have sufficient permission to access this page" Adsense DeLuxe problem.

Step 1. Deactivate Adsense-Deluxe plugin.

Step 2. Edit the Adsense-Deluxe (Click "edit")

Step 3. Find the admin_head and change it to admin_menu

Step 4. Click "Update File" and then go to plugin to activate the Adsense Deluxe.

Update:

If after following the steps above you can't still edit your old adsense deluxe code, make sure that you move the adsense-deluxe.php from the sub-directory adsense-deluxe_wp_plugin_v0.8 to the plugins directory. Then delete the adsense-deluxe_wp_plugin_v0.8 directory and all of the contents. ( Thanks Carlo - detailed explanation for removing the old folder can be found here)

That's all. I thank you! :)

  9. it’s work with me now :)

    i use v2.8.4

    thank you so much.

  10. Hi Zalds,
I try your fix and now I can enter on the menu administration, but when I try to add a new AdSense Block, the same error appears again?

Any idea on that? How can I fix?

  11. Thank you!! Google search brought you up as number 1 and your fix worked immediately.

  12. Hi Zalds,

That worked great to get me into the Adsense Deluxe menu. However when I try to edit one of my existing Adsense Blocks I still get the same error.

  13. In fact I can’t do anything inside the Adsense Deluxe main menu now:
    I can’t add new Adsense Blocks, I can’t delete old ones, I can’t edit.

  14. @heavy,

what wordpress version are you using..?

  15. Carlo,

I have found the complete solution for us here:
    http://www.thefilipinoentrepreneur.com/2009/07/20/adsense-deluxe-plugin-for-wordpress-2-8-1.htm

It still includes the changing of admin_head to admin_menu (thanks Zalds – never would have figured this out without you) but also includes one more step where you need to “move the adsense-deluxe.php from the sub-directory adsense-deluxe_wp_plugin_v0.8 to the plugins directory.

Then delete the adsense-deluxe_wp_plugin_v0.8 directory and all of the contents and activate it by going to Plugins link on the left side of your wordpress admin panel (The reason why you have to delete it is because you won’t be able to edit your adsense code once you get inside the adsense deluxe admin page).”

  16. @heavy,

great! glad it worked for you.

  17. Thanks So Much

  18. Awesome! Simple! Works!
    Thanks!!

  19. Thanks a lot for the fix! I’ll link to this post when I post my next “Blog Updates” post.

  23. Did the trick for my Adsense Deluxe “You do not have sufficient permissions” blah blah blah problem! Thank you so much!

  24. Thanks a lot for this instruction! Really helpful for me.

  25. Thanks, it worked! Your explanation of what to do was very easy to follow, especially with your images. The only thing is you should probably mention that the line that needs to be changed is at the bottom of the script. I had to go through the whole script looking for it before I found it at the bottom.

  26. Thanks heeps ^^
    it worked for my site.

  27. Thanks, that did it.

  28. I recently added an Adsense square ads on my travel blog. my adsense earning is still low since i dont have large volume of internet traffic yet.

  29. I don’t see an “edit” link…can you please update this tutorial? I dont think it’s valid anymore for the new version of WP.

  30. Thanks, fixed it right away.

  31. Thank you so much to sharing that!! So much help!

  32. Obrigado pela postagem ! Deu certinho =D

  33. thanks it works !

  34. You the man! Pity the original plugin download hasn’t been updated to reflect this.

  35. Thanks for that… problem solved.

  36. I have been bagning my head against the wall for days on this problem. Thanks for the super short and super awesoem answer! You rock!

  37. Uh oh, I spoke to soon. I am able to access the options menu for this plugin but when I try to add in my Ad’s, it gives me the same “permissions” error. Any other suggestions? Currently using WP v 2.9.2

  38. Don’t mind my last comment. Heavy (up above) already gave me the answer. Apparently you only need to copy the adsense-deluxe.php file from the subfolder directly to the main plugin folder and then delete the subfolder in which it rested in.

All details can be found here: http://www.thefilipinoentrepreneur.com/2009/07/20/adsense-deluxe-plugin-for-wordpress-2-8-1.htm

  39. Great ! Saved me ages, I had this plugin in my blog and when I upgraded to WordPress 2.8, it wasn’t working anymore and showing me that I do not have permission. I was looking for an alternate solution but then I found your article. Superb. Thank you for your help.

  40. Nice one, thank you.
