Few weeks back I received an email inquiry for a possible in-text ads from Infolinks. After a couple of email exchanges from the account manager, I decided to give them a try.

Why I decided to test Infolinks?

1. Higher revenue share, which guarantees a higher CPM for my in-text ads > 80% split
2. To check ad performance & choose the one who will give me more revenue of course ( Yes! You must also A/B - split test advertising company that you are using.)

After 23 days, here is the result:

Result shows that my test sites are profitable with Infolinks compare to my previous Intext Ads. The first 3 days I haven't fully updated the script so you'll see a very low earning but if you are going to observe the earning from 4th - 24th of March the daily earning is hovering to $8 - $21 .  If earning trend continue this will give me an average of $14 per day - around $400 monthly! not bad.

Strong Points:

1. Publisher have the ability to control the number of intext ads to appear per page
2. Publisher can also control the underline style (double or single)

Weak Points:

1. Intext performance per website is very crucial for publisher who is running multiple website. Infolinks reporting dashboard will not give you the report per website it will only give you the daily earning.  If you want to segragate the earning per website the only way right now is to apply a separate account and generate a unique infolink code.

Update: Infolinks listened to us publishers! now we can get categorical result. By adding the var infolink_wsid = 1 you can now generate report per site. Check your infolinks account for detailed integration.

1. In some instances I see intext ads irrelevant to my content.

With the current eCPM and earning I think I'm going to let the Infolinks run for another month.  Let's see if the result is consistent. If the result is the same then I'm going to migrate all my site to infolinks.  We should use the monetizing method that is more profitable to us, right?

Shifting to Infolinks will give me additional $400.00 monthly, which I can then use to fund my affiliate ad spend..

Okay, back from the main topic. I just want to share you the update of my affiliate experience for the Month of November.  As you are already aware, November 8 is when I first received my first sale in this money making opportunity.  I made $296.11 on that day and I'm really really happy on that experience.  After that day what happened next?

Alrighty, here is the quick stats of the November 2008 Affiliate earning.  This is from a not so aggressive, free marketing campaign of the product I chose from Clickbank and one free offer product from NeverBlue Ads.

November 2008 Affiliate Earning Summary (November 1 - 30 less refund / debits)

To sum it up:

Clickbank:  $1182.86

NeverBlue: $ 7.70

Total = $1,190.56

There you go, $1,190.56 profit because I didn't spend a dime in advertising.   What I did? I just choose a product to promote in clickbank, create some lens and short post and promote it via social bookmarking. I use socialposter & socialmarker to simplify this task.  For the neverblue, I just pick a campaign closes to my blog niche and lazily put their banner in my site.

Lessons Learned:

1. On that exercise I learned that in choosing a product, you have to research to the products refund rate as well not just the commission and gravity of the product.  For the clickbank product that I promote for instance,  If there is no refund I should have earned $1487.96 That is $305.1 refund which could have big impact specially if I use pay-per-click advertising or media buy.
2. Cant go further if the affilliate marketing method I will use is only by placing the banner in site.  Thats is what happened with my neverblue earning, you can check the quick stats below.  Out of 151,157 impression I only got 3 conversions amounting to whooping $7.70  Need to be a little more aggressive, maybe by using the PPC marketing.
3. Ten targeted traffic is better than tenthousand untargeted traffic. Observation #2 says it all.  Now, the next job is to find out how and where to get that highly targeted traffic for the product I like to promote.

So, I think thats it.  Now I have some idea what I will do for the coming days.  I'm planning to try out PPC to get massive and targeted traffic.  With Ivan on my side I know I can do this.   I'm going to choose a CPA offer in NeverBlue.  Aside from that I'm going to create a non-seasonal campaign from Clickbank so earning and traffic will be consistent 24/7/365

November 2008 Affiliate Earning Summary & How I did it is a post from: Zalds

I just wrote a quick post, put a blantant call to action on it like "Click Here if you want to learn more about this product..." then hit publish button.  I am not going to go in detail how I did it coz I treat this marketing strategy as experimental.  Over all the time it takes to complete the whole marketing process is around 30 minutes.

I didn't create a landing page, I didn't use PPC... earning came from free traffic source..

Fast forward - -  after 8 hours, this is my clickbank stats commission.  I have made 9 sales (1 sale from November 8 and 8 sales November 9) that gives a total commission of $296.11

Its really surprising! what amazed me is that, this earning took me only 30 minutes to prepare...

I know this is  a good sign... whether I got the commission because of pure luck it doesn't matter.  The important is there is some gold that could be uncovered in that niche and its now my job to do more research, studies and marketing activities in accordance to the proven method of affiliate marketing.

September 19-October 22 Chitika Earning Report:

The above earning is from Chitika Premium wherein I earn from the clicks generated from US & Canada visitors coming from search engines.  They pay via paypal or by cheque by the way.

Here is what they say about the payout:

Chitika will pay you 30 days following the end of the month that your commissions are earned provided that your total revenue has exceeded $10 (for PayPal) and $50 (for check where PayPal is not available)

Chitika is another option if you want to monetize your blogs, they also offer referral program where you could earn 10% of the referred publisher earning for 15 months.  In case you are asking, the 10% will not be deducted from the publisher's earning but from Chitika's revenue share.  Aside from that you'll also receive a $25 referral for every $100 ad spent of advertiser you referred to them.

As per my referral earning.  The report shows that I've earned a whoooping $1.88 from 2 publishers . Not big but I will not neglect it because even if it earns cents every day, in the end it will add up.  Anyways, I hope that my referral earning will increase next month.
